Yesterday afternoon we joined Mrs. Walker's class to participate in 2 Easter activities! We dyed Easter eggs with rice and food coloring. Everyone got to shake their bag all around to dye the egg- it was a big hit! We also made bunnies using 3 toilet paper rolls for the head and 2 ears.
Our first grade concert is on Tuesday, April 10 at Charlton Middle School. The show starts at 6:30pm and students are to arrive at 6:10pm in the CMS cafeteria. Please have your child wear their tie-dyed t-shirts with jeans (pants, shorts or skirt). We are looking forward to a wonderful concert!
Yesterday we read a story about the missing Easter bunny and worked on answering wh. questions related to the text. Everyone made their own bunny and did a great job drawing on the face! We have been sorting jelly beans this week by color and will be graphing with them later this week.
We had an awesome pig day! We painted our own pigs, read If You Give A Pig A Pancake, sequenced the story, practiced counting and matching with pretend pancakes, practiced identifying beginning sounds with pretend pans for our pancakes, and played in the "mud" with our pigs (chocolate pudding).
Yesterday we read "There Was an Old Lady That Swallowed a Chick" and pretended to feed our old lady all the items that she ate in the book. During the reading of the story we practiced identifying rhyming words and sequencing. We all made chicks with our hands as the wings and our feet as the chick feet. We may have some tickilish toes in the class, but they all love painting their hands and feet!
Making snow angels, playing in the snow, sliding down hills, rolling down hills, climbing as high as we could go........smiles from ear to ear!
