This week we has been full of fun activities to get ready for Halloween! We made hand print spiders, witches and candy corn. Some students even made Frankenstein out of their foot prints. Today we made ghosts out of shaving cream, played monster math with daubers, and played in spider web slime.
Tomorrow is Pirate Day! I look forward to seeing all of our little pirates tomorrow! We read about the little old lady that wasn't scared of anything. We acted out the story by clapping our hands, shaking like the shirt, wiggling like the pants, nodding like the hat and saying "BOO, BOO" like the jack-o-lantern.
This week we have been reading books about fall, we read a interactive book about fall with pictures and vocabulary of fall activities and we played number bingo.
This week we have been learning about pumpkins. We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, cut out the pictures and sequenced them. As it gets closer to Halloween we will be opening up a pumpkin to see inside and decorate a pumpkin.
Today we read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves and made our own trees. We used our arms as the branch and finger painted all the leaves. Have a great long weekend!
