Thank you to Mrs. Paquette for all the amazing art projects we did this year! Today students made sand art! Everyone did a fantastic job choosing their own colors, pouring the sand, waiting for their turn, and complimenting other students on their art projects.
The best sensory exploration day of the school year had to be ice cream day! We made our own ice cream today, which everyone took a turn putting the ingredients in the bowl and stirring it up. We poured it into the ice cream machine, tuned it on and let it do the work! While it was freezing we enjoyed ice cream that was premade from the ice cream maker earlier. We also played in the sensory table filled with empty ice cream containers, bowls, spoons, scoopers, and pom poms (as pretend ice cream). We have had a fabulous year of sensory exploration!
Today our classroom used the Bee-Bot for the first time and we loved it! We practiced our number identification and 1:1 correspondence by counting how many squares the Bee-Bot needed to move in order to get to a certain number. We then programmed the Bee-Bot to move. We also used the Bee-Bot with a large mat of letters. We look forward to using it again!
Yesterday was ocean sensory day with sea foam and homemade kinetic sand. We made the sea foam in a mixer using water, dish soap and food coloring to put in the table with shells, fish and boats. Everyone took turns putting the ingredients in the mixer to make the sea foam. We also had homemade kinetic sand in another sensory table filled with sand toys and shells. Everyone is ready for a visit to the ocean!
