This week we have been making Popsicle gingerbread people, played "feed" the gingerbread man, sorted by category with a Christmas train, counting the gingerbread men on the cookie sheet, made a gingerbread tree, and played with homemade gingerbread playdoh.
Last week we learned about Hanukkah traditions and made a menorah. We painted the paper plate to be the menorah, decorated Popsicle sticks to be the candles and scrunched up tissue paper to be the flame.
Today we learned about Kwanzaa. We read about book about Kwanzaa traditions, made a kinara candle holder with our hand prints and colored a kinara with candles.
We had a blast making our gingerbread men! We talked about all the parts we needed to put on the gingerbread and used all different types of materials to decorate. We read an interactive gingerbread story to find the missing buttons for the gingerbread.
Last week we learned all about the 5 senses. We explored with different textures, talked about what we can taste versus what we can hear, made our own binoculars and played with the bubble machine. We talked about how we can see the bubble machine, hear the bubble machine, smell the bubbles (used cotton candy bubbles) and feel the bubbles when we pop them.
